glo™ x Milan Design Week: The installation that made the visitor part of the artwork

With more than 1,066 activities on its schedule, Fuorisalone once again proved to be the most important international event regarding design. glo™ took part in this prestigious event through a spectacular installation created by Michela Picchi. Here’s how the 2025 edition went and how this year’s theme was captured through art and technology.
With an impressive number of visitors from around the world and across various fields, Fuorisalone solidified its role as a key hub for meeting, showcasing and connecting in the design business. From entrepreneurs to enthusiasts and students, Milan Design Week recorded revenues of 278 million euros this year, according to Confcommercio estimates, an increase of 5.8% compared to the previous edition. Featuring famous brands from diverse fields (architecture, fashion, auto and hi-tech and independent businesses), this year’s theme managed to bring together not only the people but also the multiple forms of visual expression.
“Connected Worlds,” this edition’s theme, brought together both classic design technique and the increasingly present forms of Artificial Intelligence. From immersive installations to research studies on sustainability, from the production of new materials to visions of future living, from electric mobility to fusions of physical and digital realms, the key of the 2025 Fuorisalone edition was the connection of various aspects between people, technology, and nature.
Brands, designers, universities, curators and artists transformed Milan into a rich source of inspiration and new perspectives on our relationship with the world we live in. From the biggest fashion houses to the automotive industry, creativity and the intersection of artistic mediums made the city shine, from its most iconic locations to the mysterious corners visitors had the chance to discover during the Design Week.
glo™ was one of the key players at this year’s Fuorisalone, participating with an installation titled HYPER PORTAL, exhibited as the centerpiece of the glo™ Creative Hub from April 7–13 at 18 Palazzo Moscova, in the Brera Design District, one of the most visited areas of Fuorisalone. Through this project, glo™ reinforces its mission as a great supporter of the arts, a commitment it has cultivated over the years, from it’s „glo for art” project and also through the design of its devices, such as glo HYPER PRO, which emphasizes the connection between art and innovation.
Inspired by the event’s theme and the brand’s connection with the art world, glo™ created a symphony of light, color, and form. Nut the most important aspect is that the installation managed to break down the barriers between the viewer and the artwork. Through the entrance portal, seen as a symbol of connection, each visitor became part of the installation during their journey, as every touch or interaction with the space made the artwork to grow, transforming itself into a living entity that emphasized the bond between technology, humanity and art.
Michela Picchi, known for her love of surrealism and Pop Art, enthusiastically accepted glo™’s challenge: “An explosion of colors, sinuous lines, and a pop-surrealist experience combined with technology and design: HYPER PORTAL is an immersive journey where the audience, touch by touch, creates interconnected worlds and becomes a co-protagonist of the piece through sharing and positivity, perfectly aligned with the spirit of glo™.”
We invite you to discover more and catch a glimpse of the event’s atmosphere on the glo™ page.
